Researchers found walnuts have cancer-prevention properties. It is one of the best cancer-fighting food to be added in your diet. You may make your own fresh walnuts spread or get it from Wholefoods store. Berries contain antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory which can help ease discomfort during cancer treatment.

Ingredients

a 2 slices of whole meal or vegan bread

a 1 tbsp walnut butter

a 2-3 strawberries (tops removed, sliced)

a Maple syrup or Honey (optional, to taste)

Equipment

Chopping board

Knife

Grill press or griddle pan

Instructions

filter_1 Preheat your pan. Brush with oil or spray with cooking spray if necessary.

filter_2 Spread the walnut butter on one slice of bread and arrange the strawberries on top. Drizzle with maple syrup or honey (optional) and cover with the second slice of bread.

filter_3 Grill for 3-5 minutes until you see brown marks. Cut in half and enjoy!

Notes

You can experiment with other berries, including raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. You can even use a frozen berry mix, as frozen berries typically retain their nutritional value quite well. For the gluten-free option, use your favourite gluten-free bread. If you can’t have walnuts, almond or cashew butter go great with this recipe. For a nut-free option, try it with sunflower seed butter.
